Information: Major Robert Alexander Gray, Royal Irish Fusiliers, killed in action. He was gazetted 2nd Lieutenant in 1891, and became first Lieutenant in 1895, obtaining his Captaincy in February, 1900, and his Majority in 1910. He served through the South African War and took part in the operations in the Transvaal, the Orange River Colony and in Cape Colony, receiving the Queen's Medal with three clasps and the King's Medal with two clasps.
