Information: Captain Lionel Warren De Vere Sadlier Jackson D.S.O., 9th Queen's Royal Lancers, entered the army in May, 1898; obtained his lieutenancy in October, 1900, and was gazetted Captain in December, 1904. He served with much distinction in the South African War, and was mentioned in despatches on three occasions. He received the Queen's Medal with 7 clasps, the King's Medal with 2 clasps, and the D.S.O. He has been mentioned in Sir John French's despatches.
