Information: Captain Harry Vivian Hare, 2nd Batt. Durham Light Infantry, son of the late Admiral Hon. Richard Hare and Hon. Mrs. Hare, and nephew of Lord Listowel. He joined the Army in 1900, became Captain in 1912, and accompanied his regiment to France in the early part of the War. A week later he was in the firing line and was killed whilst leading his men in a desperate charge against the enemy, being mortally wounded within thirty yards of the German trenches on September 20th at the battle of the Aisne. In 1909 he married Miss Hudson-Kinahan, by whom he leaves two little children, a boy and a girl.
