Information: Lieutenant Frederick Ernest Styles, Royal Munster Fusiliers, who was killed in action on August 27th at Etreux, France, was the eldest son of the late Mr. Frederick Styles and of Mrs. Styles, of Blackmoor, Four Elms. He was born in 1884, was educated at Harrow and Sandhurst, and gazetted as Second Lieutenant to the Munster Fusiliers in 1903. He obtained his promotion as Lieutenant in 1906, and retired from the Army in April, 1914, but rejoined on the outbreak of the War. Lieut. Styles was killed while gallantly leading his men under a heavy fire.
