Information: Lieutenant R. Annesley West, North Irish Horse, who has been mentioned in despatches, is the youngest son of the late Aug. G. West, of White Park, Brookeborough. He served in the Boer War in 45th (Irish Hunt) Co. Imperial Yeomanry, January, 1900, till disbanded in March, 1901, He returned to South Africa in July, 1901, and enlisted in Kitchener's 2nd Fighting Scouts, and shortly afterwards he was given a commission. He obtained the Queen's and King's Medal with three clasps.
