Information: Lance-Corporal James Delaney, 2nd Battalion Royal Irish Regiment, was amongst the twenty three Non-Commissioned Officers and men who were awarded the medal for Distinguished Conduct on the Field. During an important point in the operations at Orloy, Delaney greatly distinguished himself by smart scouting in the vicinity of the River Petit Morin and discovering the position of the enemy in time to warn the advance guard of danger.
