Information: Brigadier General Charles Toler McMurrough Kavanagh, who has been mentioned in Sir John French's Despatches, late of the 10th Hussars, entered the service in 1884, became Captain in 1890, Major in January, 1900; Lt.-Col. in the winter of the same year, and Colonel in August, 1905. He served through the South African campaign, being mentioned twice in Despatches, receiving a Brevet Colonelcy, the Queen's Medal with five clasps, the King's Medal with two clasps, and the Distinguished Service Order. In addition to the distinctions already mentioned, General Kavanagh has been given the C.B., the M.V.O., and C.V.O.
