Information: Brigadier-General Aylmer Hunter Weston C.B. D.S.O. J.P. D.L., who has been mentioned in Despatches, acted as assistant director of-Military Training on the General Staff of the War Office from 1911. He entered the army in 1884, being gazetted Lieutenant to the Royal Engineers; his promotion as Captain followed in 1892; he became Brevet Major in 1895; Brevet Lt.-Col. in 1900, and Brevet Col. in 1906. He was a member of the Dongola Expeditionary Force in 1896, being mentioned in despatches and obtaining the fourth class Medjidieh, the Khedive's Medal with clasp, and the Queen's Medal. In the South African War, 1899 to 1902, he took part in most of the operations during the campaign, being mentioned in despatches and obtaining the medal with seven clasps, the D.S.O. and his Brevet Lieutenant-Colonelcy.
