Information: Captain J. J. Kavanagh, 3rd Batt. Connaught Rangers, has been promoted Captain for distinguished conduct and bravery on the battlefield. He was gazetted temporary Lieutenant in the Connaught Rangers and left for the front on March 4th. He took part in the battle of Neuve Chapelle and has since been in many engagements. He is the eldest son of Mr. P. J. Kavanagh, solicitor, Cork.
