Information: Brigadier-General Beauchamp J. C. Doran C.B., Entered the service in January, 1880, was gazetted Lieutenant in 1881 arid Captain in May, 1887, obtaining his Majority the same week. In November, 1900, he became Lieut. Colonel and obtained his full Colonelcy in October, 1905. He is the eldest son of the late General Sir John Doran, K.C.B., a distinguished Irish officer. He has seen considerable service, having served in the Afghan War, the Sudan expedition, the Hazara expedition, the Miranzai expedition. In 1899-1902 he was taking part in the South African War, acting as Press censor in Natal, also discharging staff duties and later acting as Commandant at Rustenberg. He was present at the relief of Ladysmith, was engaged in the Transvaal in November, 1900, to April, 1901, and in Cape Colony, where he was severely wounded. In 1903 he married Mary, widow of the late William M‘Geough Bond, and they have resided from time to time at their town house, 50 Stephen's Green, Dublin, and at the family seat, Ely House, Co. Wexford. He was mentioned in Sir John French's despatches.
