Information: Lieutenant Bernard Conroy, 4th Batt. Royal Dublin Fusiliers, who was killed in action in Flanders, was a son of a former Chief Clerk to the Maryborough District Asylum. He joined the Army at the age of 18 and served in Egypt, India, Malta, and through the South African campaign. He held two medals with five clasps. His mother, who lives at Elm Park Avenue, Ranelagh, has received letters from the officers of the regiment expressing their regret at the loss the regiment has sustained by the death of “a most gallant and capable officer”.
