Information: Lieutenant Alfred Edwin Claud Toke Dooner, 1st Batt. Royal Welsh Fusiliers, was killed in action at Zanvoorde, near Ypres. The deceased officer was 22 years of age and was the third son of Colonel Dooner, of Ditton Place, Maidstone, Kent, who was well known in Dublin and the North of Ireland a few years ago, having served as Brigade Major at the Curragh and afterwards in command of the Royal Irish Fusiliers Depot at Armagh. Lieut. Dooner was a magnificent athlete and a splendid rifle shot. Lieutenant Dooner was shot while returning to his Colonel after having given an order to another trench, Colonel Cadogan, who went to his assistance, being shot at the same time.
