Information: Lieutenant James Gardiner McCormick, 2nd Worcestershire Regiment, was killed on May 15-16. Lieutenant McCormick, who was the youngest son of Mr. S. S. McCormick, J.P., Shandon, Monkstown, Dublin, entered Sandhurst in 1913. He joined the Expeditionary Force on January 4th, 1915. His Commanding Officers report of him: “He died, as he would have wished, at the head of his men whom he led with the greatest gallantry and fell close to the German works which we had orders to take”.
