Information: Captain John Hugh Gardiner McCormick, Royal Warwickshire Regiment, was reported in April as having died in a German hospital on October 19th of wounds received on same day, while attacking a German battery. Capt. McCormick, who was the eldest son of Mr. S.S. McCormick, J.P., Shandon, Monkstown, Dublin, received his commission in 1906 and his Captaincy in September, 1914. He joined the Expeditionary Force on October 4, and lost his life leading his troops in an attack on the German trenches.
