Information: Lieutenant Charles E. S. Irvine C.E., Northern Rhodesian Rifles, was killed in action at Mwenengambe, on the Myasaland border. He was the fourth son of the late Colonel Irvine, D.L., of Killedeas, Co. Fermanagh. He was educated at Trinity College, where he took his Engineering degree, and was subsequently engaged on railway work in Rhodesia. He joined a volunteer corps during the South African War, and on the outbreak of the present war he was given a commission in the Northern Rhodesian Rifles.
