            Information: Second Lieut. Melbourne Ross, 4th Batt. Royal Irish Rifles, who has been killed in action, was a son of Mr. George Ross, Cultra, of the well known firm of William Ross and Sons, Ltd., Belfast. Immediately war broke out Lieut. Melbourne Ross and his brother, Lieut. Kenneth Ross, patriotically volunteered and on the 15th of August, 1914, were gazetted to the 4th Batt. Royal Irish Rifles. They went to the front and were attached to the 2nd Batt. They had only been a short time at the front when Lieut. Melbourne Ross was killed and Lieut. Kenneth Ross was wounded and is reported missing.
