Information: Second Lieutenant Allan John McClellan, 18th (attached 15th) Royal Irish Rifles, who has been killed in action, was a son of Mr. James McClellan, Ballyboley, Co. Antrim, and on the outbreak of the war was an assistant master at Larne Grammar School. He received his commission from the 16th Royal Irish Rifles, in which he was a Sergeant, being gazetted to the 18th (Reserve) Battalion. His eldest brother is second in command of a torpedo boat destroyer in the North Sea, and his youngest is serving with the 196th Western Universities Batt., Canada. Lieutenant J McClellan had just passed his 21st birthday when he fell.
