Information: Captain P. Cruickshank, Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers, who fell in action during the offensive on July 1st, was, prior to the outbreak of the war, editor of the “Tyrone Constitution”, and a well known and popular figure in Unionist circles in the North of Ireland. He was a journalist of much ability and a talented writer. On the outbreak of the war he at once volunteered. He served with the Tyrone battalion, and was soon promoted Captain. He went to the front in October, 1915, and had, previous to the action in which he fell, been twice wounded.
