Information: Second Lieutenant William Kearns Adrian, 5th Royal Irish Regiment, was killed in action on August 24th, 1916. He was the son of the late Mr. Robert Adrian, Ballyclare, Co. Antrim, and Mrs. Adrian, 5 Donard Villas, Belfast. He was a member of Queen's University O.T.C., and in October, 1915, was posted to a commission in the 5th R.I. Regiment. He went to the front on July 10th, 1916, and was attached to the 1st Royal Irish Rifles. He met his death whilst heroically helping to dig out men who had been buried in the debris when their trench was hit.
