Information: Second Lieutenant Hugh Montgomery Archdall Olphert, 3rd Royal Munster Fusiliers, was killed in action at Guillemont, on September 9th, 1916. He was the son of Canon J. Olphert, Urney Rectory, Co. Tyrone, and was educated at Snettisham Grange, Norfolk, Monkstown Park, and Ellesmere College, where he was a member of the O.T.C., and played in the football fifteen. He got his commission straight from school in October, 1915, when he was 17 years of age. He was attached to the 7th Leinster Regiment at the front, but was sent to the 6th Royal Irish Regiment on the day he was killed.
