Information: Lieutenant Gerald Charles Moran, 5th Battalion Royal Dublin Fusiliers, was the only surviving son of Mr. and Mrs. Stanislaus Moran, of Moateeharre, Greystones. He was born in 1888, and was educated at Clongowes and Trinity College, Dublin. In 1910 he was attached to the 28th Brigade Royal Field Artillery, and two years later was gazetted to the 5th Batt. Royal Dublin Fusiliers. He went to the Front on May 2nd, and on the 25th was brought to the hospital at Rouen, suffering from gas poisoning, from the effects of which he died the following morning.
