Information: Captain Charles V. Fox, 2nd Scots Guards, has been awarded the D.S.O. for “conspicuous gallantry at Kruiseik, in which he captured five officers and 200 men”. His previous record is a remarkably brilliant one. He has been mentioned in despatches at least seven times. He has the West African Medal and seven clasps, the Soudan Medal and one clasp, and the Mejidieh, a decoration bestowed on him by the Khedive of Egypt for his success in the Bier and Annak Expeditions. Captain Fox was educated at Clongowes College, and is a son of Mrs. Fox, Brookfield, Milltown, Dublin.
