Information: Second Lieutenant Gilbert McClelland Kennedy, Cameronians 16th Scottish Rifles, who was killed in action at Festurbet on the 15th June last, was the eldest son of the Rev. Gilbert Kennedy, parish minister of Cambusnethan, Lanarkshire. Lieut. Kennedy was born in the Manse of Aghadoey, Co. Derry, on the 5th March, 1895, where his father was minister at that time. He was a nephew of Dr. John Kennedy, medical officer, Portstewart, Co. Derry. On the outbreak of the war he immediately volunteered and received his commission. He fell whilst leading his men in an attack on the German trenches.
