Information: Lieutenant Ernest M. Harper, 7th Batt. Munster Fusiliers, has been killed in action at the Dardanelles. Lieut. Harper had just been appointed a Demonstrator in Chemistry in Queen's University, Belfast, at the outbreak of the war, but at once volunteered for active service and obtained a commission in the 9th Munsters. He was a son of Mr. Henry M. Harper, Northland Place, Dungannon, and was educated at Dungannon Royal School, afterwards entering the Royal University, where he had a brilliant record. He was in his 25th year when he fell in action whilst gallantly leading his men, and although wounded at the time he insisted on continuing the attack until he fell.
