Information: Major Hugo Mascie Taylor, 6th Royal Irish Fusiliers, who was killed in action at the Dardanelles between August 6th and 10th last, was the son of Mr. H. Mascie Taylor, late of the 51st King's Own Light Infantry, and Mrs. Mascie Taylor, Besselsleigh Cheltenham. He was born in 1870 at Clonmel, Co. Tipperary, and was educated at Cheltenham College, he served through the South African War and was twice mentioned in despatches and received the Queen's Medal with two clasps, On the outbreak of war he at once applied to be allowed to rejoin, and in September 1914 was appointed Major of the 6th Royal Irish Fusiliers. Major Taylor married, in 1911, Miss Josephine Madeline de Courcy, daughter of Col, Berkeley M'Calmont, C.B., of Warborne, Hants,
