Information: Captain Edward Crump Dorman, 1st Batt. Royal Munster Fusiliers, who was killed in action at the Dardanelles, was the third son of the late J. W. Dorman, C.E., and Mrs. Dorman, Raffin, Kinsale. Previous to entering the Army he was a student of medicine in the Royal University. In 1908 he received his lieutenancy, and in 1914 was promoted Captain. Captain Dorman was a fine athlete and an excellent shot, and had won several important prizes in sabre and bayonet contests and for rowing while in India. He fell while rallying his men during a night attack of the Turks on the 4th May, 1915.
