Information: Captain Arthur John Dillon Preston, 6th Batt. Royal Dublin Fusiliers, only son of Major A. J. Preston, late Duke of Wellington's Regiment, and Mrs. Preston, Swainston, Co. Meath, was born in 1885 and received his first commission in the Militia Battalion, Durham Light Infantry. In 1907 he was gazetted to the Royal Dublin Fusiliers and served with the 1st Batt. in Egypt. At the outbreak of the war he was ordered to Naas to raise the 6th Batt., and was with this battalion at the Dardanelles when he fell in action.
