Information: Second Lieutenant Edward Theaker Weatherill, was killed in action at the Dardanelles on the 15th August last. He was educated at Fettes College, Edinburgh, and Armstrong College (Durham University), Newcastle-on-Tyne, where he obtained his B.Sc. degree and later gained a first-class marine engineer's certificate. In the course of his duties as marine engineer he made several voyages in the Far Eastern and Pacific Trades, and was well acquainted with the features or the Dardanelles and Constantinople. At its formation in September, 1914, he joined the “Football Company” of the 7th Royal Dublin Fusiliers. Lieutenant Weatherill was in his 28th year, and was a son of Captain and Mrs Weatherill, 6 Ailesbury Road.
