Information: Sergeant Francis A. Marrable, was one of those who in September, 1914, joined the “D” Company, 7th Royal Dublin Fusiliers. He was the younger son of Mr. Arthur Marrable, B.L., Druid Hill, Cabinteely, and was educated at Aravon School, Bray, and Trinity College. Previous to the outbreak of the war he was a chartered accountant, but when the urgent call of King and Country came he enlisted and, like many of his comrades, declined a commission out of loyalty to his 44 Pals.
