Information: 14228 Private Thomas Arthur Symes, who died in hospital at Alexandria on August 18th, was tthe seventh son of Mr. and Mrs. Sandham J. Symes, Hill View, Tinahely, Co. Wicklow. He went to the Dardanelles with the “Pals” Company of the 7th Royal Dublin Fusiliers, which he had joined, on the outbreak of the war. He was attached to the machine gun section of his battalion, and was a very keen and promising soldier.
