Information: Captain C.B. Williams, 3rd Batt. Royal Irish Rifles, who has, been killed in action in Flanders, was a son of Mr. J. A Williams, The Willows, Northland Road, Londonderry. He was educated at Foyle College and Trinity, where he was a student when war broke out. He immediately volunteered and received his lieutenancy in May last. He left for the front with a draft of the 2nd Battalion on the 1st May last, and fell in action on August 29th. Captain Williams was a keen Rugby footballer and a capital swimmer, and was looked on in his regiment as a young officer of exceptional promise.
