Information: Lieut. John Hartley Schute, 6th Batt. Royal Irish Fusiliers, was killed in action at the Dardanelles on the 15th August last in his 22nd year. He was the younger son of the late Mr. Frederick Schute, C.E., and Mrs. Langley, and was very popular in Dublin sporting circles, being an excellent swimmer and footballer. He was educated at Strangways School and afterwards at Trinity College, where he graduated in 1914. He was a good sportsman, a gallant officer, and known to a large circle of friends as “one of the best”.
