Information: Captain Charles Palliser Wheeler, 1st Royal Berks Regiment, was the only son of Colonel and Mrs. Wheeler, The Rocks, Kilkenny, and nephew to the late Sir Chas. D. Wheeler Cuffe, Bart., Co. Kilkenny. He was educated at Haileybury and Sandhurst, obtained his commission in the 1st Royal Berks in 1910, and became Captain in May, 1915. He was in the retreat from Mons, was wounded in the battle of the Aisne, and was killed instantaneously by a burst of shrapnel on the morning of September 26th last.
