Information: Captain John Clarke, R.A.M.C., died of wounds received in action at the Dardanelles. He was the third son of Mr. William Clarke, Ballymena, and brother of Mr. James Clarke, solicitor, Ballymena. Captain Clarke was 32 years of age and was educated at Ballymena Academy, Edinburgh University and Queen's College, Belfast, where he took his degree in medicine. He subsequently practised at Aberbargoed, Cardiff, but when war broke out he offered his services and obtained his commission in the R.A.M.C. He was promoted Captain shortly after landing at the Dardanelles.
