Information: Lieutenant Henry Joseph Burke, 1st Batt. South Staffordshire Regiment, was killed whilst leading his Company in an attack on the German trenches on September 25th last, in his 21st year. He was the younger son of the late Captain Edward Plunkett Burke, King's Own Regiment, and grandson of the late Sir Bernard Burke, C.B., Ulster King of Arms. Lieutenant Burke was educated at Stonyhurst College and Sandhurst, and in July, 1914, was gazetted to the South Staffordshire Regiment.
