Information: Lieutenant J.W. Bennett, 3rd Batt. Royal Munster Fusiliers (attached 2nd Batt.), was killed in action near Loos in France, on October 13th, aged 25 years. He was the only son of Mr. and Mrs. John H. Bennett, Charleston, Ballinacurra, Co. Cork, and was educated at Mostyn House School, Cheshire, and Shrewsbury School. He applied for a commission shortly after the outbreak of war and joined the 3rd Batt. Royal Munster Fusiliers in November, 1914. He went to France in August.
