Information: Major Harold Bessemer Galloway, 7th Seaforth Highlanders, of Annestown, Waterford, was killed in action in Flanders on September 25th last. He was a keen follower of the Waterford Hunt, and his death is a loss to the Irish Hunting Field. Major Galloway was the only surviving son of Mr. Charles Galloway, Thorneyholme, Knutsford. He joined the 2nd Batt. Seaforth Highlanders in 1888, and served in the Hazara Expedition in 1891 (medal and clasps), the Relief of Chitral, 1895 (medal and clasps), and in the South African War, 1901-2, attached to Lovat's Scouts, for his services in which he received the medal and three clasps. At the outbreak of the war Major Galloway was in the Reserve of Officers, but joined the 7th Seaforth Highlanders and was promoted Major.
