Information: Lieut. Averell Digges La Touche, 5th Royal Irish Rifles, was killed in action on September 25th last in France. He was the youngest and only surviving son of Mrs. E. N. Digges La Touche and the late Major E. N. Digges La Touche, Bengal Infantry and Assam Commission. He was educated at Bedford Grammar School, and afterwards entered the College of Science, Dublin. When the war broke out he immediately volunteered and got a commission in the 5th Royal Irish Rifles, and left for the front on June 21st. He was attached to the 2nd Royal Irish Rifles.
