Information: Captain Joseph Edward Lynch, who was killed in action at Loos in France on September 25th, was the second son of Mr. M. E. Lynch, Barrister-at-Law, of 4 Clifton Terrace, Monkstown, Co. Dublin, and formerly of Balrobin, Dundalk. Captain Lynch was educated at Clongowes Wood College and at Trinity College, Dublin, from which he entered the Army in 1905, joining the 2nd Batt. Royal Irish Fusiliers, then stationed in India. He subsequently retired, but on the outbreak of the war he offered his services, and was appointed in September, 1914, to the 10th Batt. Yorkshire Regiment.
