Information: Captain Ernest Cotton Deane, R.A.M.C., was killed in action in France on September 25th last. He was the third son of Mr. T. S. Deane, Bank House, Rathkeale, Co. Limerick. Captain Deane was a well known International Rugby player, and was formerly captain of the Monkstown and Adelaide Hospital fifteens. Ten days before his death he was awarded the Military Cross for a special act of gallantry. He had been a year at the front when he fell. His three brothers are also serving in India, England and the Cameroons.
