Information: 14285 Private Victor Jefferson, was the youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. Jefferson, 44 Grosvenor Road, Rathgar, and has been killed in action at the Dardanelles in his 22nd year. He was educated at Wesley College and was a member of the Old Wesley Football Club and the Leinster Cricket Club. On the outbreak of the war he joined the “Pals” Battalion, and was with them at Suvla Bay. A letter of his published in the Press describing the landing and the subsequent fighting attracted a good deal of attention at the time. A fortnight later, on August 23rd last, he was killed in action.
