Information: Mr. Charles Frederick James Bell, was the younger son of the late Mr. James Bell, of Armagh. He was educated at the Royal School, Armagh, and then entered the Civil Service. He was for some years on the staff of the Irish Land Commission, and latterly Junior Examiner under the National Health Insurance Commission. On the outbreak of war he joined “D” Company, 7th (Pals) Batt. Royal Dublin Fusiliers, with whom he went to the Dardanelles, taking part in the landing at Suvla Bay and subsequent fighting, and fell in action on August 16th, within a few weeks of his 31st birthday.
