Information: Lieutenant Francis Cecil Law, who has been awarded the Distinguished Service Cross for service in Gallipoli, is the third and youngest son of Michael Law of Beaumond, Drogheda. He was born in August, 1895, educated at Monrue Grange, Kilkeel and Haileybury College. Joined the Royal Marines in 1913, served in Antwerp in October, 1914, and in Gallipoli from February to December, 1915. He took part in an early landing on March 4th in the Asiatic Side. In the general landing of the morning of the 25th April he also took part at Y Beach, and after twenty-four hours' fighting he was wounded. After a lapse of three weeks, recovering from wounds, he rejoined. He was invalided home after enteric fever on December 5th. His two elder brothers are both serving their country, Capt. Robert Law, Royal Dublin Fusiliers, and Lieut. M.T.N. Law, Royal Scots Fusiliers.
