Information: Captain Hamilton-Stubber, who has been mentioned in despatches for gallant and distinguished service in the field, joined the 1st Life Guards in October, 1899, and served in the South African War, 1900-1902, with the Imperial Yeomanry, and for special service he received the medal with five clasps. He retired from the 1st Life Guards in 1912 with the rank of Captain. He then joined the South Irish Horse, with which regiment he served until October, 1914, when he was attached to the 1st Life Guards and went to the front, and has served with that regiment ever since.
