Information: Csptain B. J. Hackett, M.B., R.A.M.C., attached 7th Batt. Suffolk Regiment, has been mentioned in Sir John French's despatches and awarded the Military Cross for conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty at Loos on October 2nd, 1915. Captain Hackett is the eldest son of the late Dr. John Byrne Hackett, Kilkenny, and was educated at Clongowes Wood College and the Royal University. He was house physician, and surgeon at St. Vincent's Hospital from 1899 to 1900, and was captain of St. Vincent's Hospital Rugby team. He was assistant medical officer, Mountjoy Prison, on the outbreak of the war.
