Information: Lieut. J.K.M. Greer, Irish Guards, has been mentioned in Sir John French's despatches and awarded the Military Cross for gallantry and distinguished conduct in the field. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Greer, Westoncrofts, Ballymoney, Co. Antrim, and enlisted in the North Irish Horse on August 17th, 1914, and a few days afterwards left for France, where he took part in the retreat from St. Quentin and the subsequent advance to the Aisne. In December, 1914, he received a commission in the 3rd Dragoon Guards, and served with them until April, 1915, being subsequently transferred to the Special Reserve, Irish Guards (3rd Batt).
