Information: Captain John Grey Porter D.S.O., 9th (Queen's Royal) Lancers, eldest son of Mr. John Porter-Porter, D.L., Belleisle, Co. Fermanagh, has been through the war since its commencement, and was twice wounded. He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order in recognition of his gallantry and devotion to duty on May 10th, 1915, when a very heavy attack was made on the front line near Hooge. Captain Porter went up to the infantry line and brought back very valuable information as to the situation, and on May 13th he rendered the greatest possible assistance in taking messages to various parts of the line under terrific shellfire.
