Information: Captain Ambrose Langley Hunt, R.N.R. Burrsfield, was in command of an Admiralty transport when attacked by an Austrian submarine in the Eastern Mediterranean, and while endeavouring to save her under heavy fire was killed by shrapnel. The majority of the ship's company were rescued from the damaged boats, the ship, riddled with shell, being torpedoed and sunk by the submarine, which was afterwards accounted for by H.M.S. Chatham. Captain Hunt was the fourth son of the late Dr. Ambrose Hunt, M.D., of Dungarvan, Waterford, and husband of Mrs. Catherine M. Hunt, Old Mill House, Westerham, Kent.
