Information: Lieutenant Eldred Pottinger Gordon, 104th Wellesley's Rifles, Indian Army, was killed in action in Mesopotamia about the 23rd or 24th November, 1915, in his 24th year. Lt. Gordon belonged to a very old and well known Irish family. He was the sixth and youngest son of the late Mr. Alexander H.M.H. Gordon, D.L., of Delamont, Killyleigh and Florida Manor, Killinchy, Co. Down, Lieut. Gordon held an appointment under the Board of Works, India, but on the outbreak of war he volunteered for service and was appointed to the 104th Rifles.
