Information: Captain Thomas Cyril Bruce Joy, 1st Devonshire Regiment, was killed in action in Mesopotamia on December 11th, 1915, whilst serving with the 2nd Dorset Regiment in the I.E.F. He was the eldest son of Mr. George W. Joy, of the Red Lodge, Palace Court, London, W., and belonged to an old Ulster family, being descended from Captain Thomas Joy, whose name was one of the first on the list in the settlement of Ulster. Captain Joy was educated at Oxford University, where he was a member of the O.T.C., and rowed in his college boat. He had been promoted Captain a few weeks before his death, in his 29th year.
